I have a great interest working with people with gender identity issues a some individuals feel that their biological sex and gender identity does not match.

At birth an identification of male or female will be given to us. However as the person grows up they might identify with a different gender from the one assigned to them at birth. This incongruity can cause the person to have feelings of confusion, depression and anxiety.

Some people might choose to undergo treatment in order that their physical appearance will match their gender identity.

Counselling may help an individual who is questioning their gender to explore confusing thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental environment and possibly support the individual to seek further professional support in order to decide what they should do.
